CALMIA Design Contest Begins – Give Form to Your "Calmness"

CALMIA, a global brand offering a refined lifestyle, is launching its first design competition.

Our brand name, "CALMIA," is derived from the word "Calm," signifying tranquility and peace. We aim to embody the sentiment expressed in our theme, "— Share the Calm. —," with as many people as possible. This call for designs is not merely a contest; it is a "co-creation project" to collaboratively build and expand the world of CALMIA. Your work has the potential to become a flagship design for a global brand and spread worldwide. We welcome submissions from anyone who resonates with CALMIA, regardless of experience.

Application Guidelines

Application Period

Friday, January 9, 2026 – Saturday, January 31, 2026, until 11:59 PM (JST)

How to Apply

 1. Follow CALMIA's official Instagram account.
 2. Fill out the required information in the application form and submit your design data.

Eligibility

・Applicants must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
・Applicants must be following CALMIA's official Instagram account.
・Applicants must resonate with CALMIA's brand philosophy and worldview.

Theme & Requirements

・Submission Format: Image data.

・Method of Expression: Any method or medium is acceptable. Photos taken with a smartphone or AI-generated designs are also welcome. (Even just photos taken during travel or daily life are highly encouraged.)

・Theme: Designs that evoke a sense of calmness and tranquility, in line with CALMIA's theme "— Share the Calm. —"

・Product Category: T-shirts, mugs, etc., are envisioned, but the specific product will be determined by CALMIA after the selection process.

・A maximum of 2 submissions per person is allowed. (Please submit all designs within a single form.)

We plan to adopt multiple designs in this call. Regardless of whether you are experienced or not, we will adopt as many good designs as possible, so please feel free to apply. You are also welcome to use these designs for building your portfolio or as accomplishments for job hunting/career changes.

Selection Results & Adoption

・After the application period ends, multiple designs will be selected through a rigorous review process. Adopted designs will be released as CALMIA original products.

・Regardless of the selection outcome, all applicants will receive a 30% OFF coupon.　

・Adopters will receive one complimentary finished product featuring their adopted design. (One free item per application. If two designs are adopted, or if a design is used on multiple products, one free item will still be provided.)

・Selection results will be communicated to the registered email address around mid-February 2025. (Dates may vary.)

Notes

・Upon submission, all rights, including copyright, for the submitted design will belong to CALMIA.

・Designs may undergo minor modifications, such as the addition of the CALMIA logo, when commercialized. We appreciate your understanding.

・Adopted designs may be manufactured and sold as part of the "CALMIA Original" series of products, and may also be used in public relations and promotional activities. (Series is subject to change.)

Changes to Copyright Handling (April 3, 2026)

While the application guidelines previously stated that "upon submission, all rights, including copyright, for the submitted design shall belong to CALMIA," we are changing the policy as follows:

・Copyright ownership: The copyright for the submitted design will belong to the creator.
・Use by CALMIA: CALMIA will use products incorporating the design with the creator's permission for commercial use.
・Use by creator: Creators are free to use their submitted designs for their own activities, such as commercial use or exhibition.

Based on the spirit of CALMIA's theme, "— Share the Calm. —," we have decided that creating an environment where creators can freely utilize their works is more aligned with our vision of co-creation.
