About Japan for UNHCR

UNHCR stands for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, one of the UN agencies established in 1950.

Japan for UNHCR is the official support window in Japan that supports UNHCR's activities. It provides international protection and assistance to refugees and displaced persons who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict and persecution, and works towards solving refugee issues.

There are various forms of support, such as "this donation" and "monthly donations as a 'UN Refugee Supporter'," and the donated funds are carefully used for UNHCR's most critical assistance programs. In addition to providing emergency aid such as water and food to refugees fleeing conflict and persecution, UNHCR also supports various aspects of their lives, including healthcare and education, during protracted displacement.
